The ever cool Schack Art Center has some fun offerings  this coming week, and through the weekend. Engaging and fun activities for kids and adults. Check them out!

September 26 – 29, 2013
ADMISSION IS FREE!

This harvest-themed weekend at the Schack Art Center features a glass pumpkin patch, glassblowing demonstrations, pumpkin carving demonstrations, activities for kids, “Make It Now” pumpkin classes in the hot shop, and beer tasting for those 21+.

Thursday September 26
9-10am: SCHACK MEMBERS ONLY: exclusive early access to the pumpkin patch!

10am-6pm: GLASS PUMPKIN PATCH
Pick (and purchase) your favorite glass pumpkin from more than 300 colorful and unique pumpkins handcrafted in the Schack glassblowing studio. Also: Harvest themed paintings, pottery, and gifts local artists.  Enter to win a glass pumpkin!

Friday September 27
10am-4pm: GLASS PUMPKIN PATCH

5-9pm: BEER & BRAT NIGHT – Ages 21+ ONLY

Event this weekend @ Lynnwood Convention Center : Celebration of Food

Just read over at My Edmonds News about this weekend’s “Celebration of Food” festival.

Sadly, I’ve yet to step foot inside the Lynnwood Convention Center. I guess I need to check out their calendar of events more often (read: >0 times).

Anyway, combine the local nature of this with a celebration of food, and this is one I really shouldn’t miss. I’ll plan to head over.

Added To My Must See List: Living Computer Museum

Just stumbled across this via the Billings Gazette, of all things. They have a great overview of the place so no need for me to recreate their work. Give them a peek.

This, definitely, must be on my 2013 tour list. I guess the biggest question is whether I’ll force my family to come along. Since it’s really not geek centric, perhaps they’ll enjoy it, too.

Free teen movie matinee at MLT library Wednesday

This Wednesday, the MLT library is a teen movie night (more details at MLTNews). It’s great that these sorts of things are available. Sadly, this one seems to be going on hiatus. Let’s hope the Friends Of The MLT Library are able to continue this.
