Everett’s Farmers Market Season Coming Mother’s Day

2017 Everett Farmer's Market Opening Day

As someone who adores are area’s farmer’s markets, this email delights me. The start of local market season is a great deal of fun for me. Seeing all the people, with all the vendors, one of kind craft goods and locally grown food is simply a delight.

Also, Everett’s markets are a great success story. They continue to grow and expand, and work to ensure the whole community is able to take part, helping ensure that local produce is not just a middle/upper class experience.

Some thoughts on this almost Thursday

It’s been a wretched week or so. Germs have raised their ghastly heads and brutalized my days, and nights. Losing sleep due to coughing is a paricularly nasty twist. You need sleep to heal, yet the germs rob you of it. Seeking to win, these nasties are.

Lots of sleep, often in chunks. Interrupted, ineffective; it is what it is. Iterating my way to health.

With germs and resulting deferred tssks, I won’t be caucusing Saturday. Disappointed, but that’s life. What about you?

Anyways, here’s hoping for peace, tranquility and effectiveness for the remainder of your week.

The Lexicon of Sustainability

Stumbled upon this site today: Lexicon of Sustainability. A great series introducing so much of the work I valued at Starbucks. One of the deepest privileges of my life: Corporate Social Responsibility. Working with the greatest minds on the cutting edge of societal change transformed me.

One constant issue we faced, clarifying such terms as Fair Trade, Organic, and, ultimately, sustainability. I appreciate what these folks accomplished with these videos.

These folks have developed a clever transformational campaign. Ultimately, this project revolves around community engagement, discussing our who were are, and who we want to be.

A Day Made of Glass… Made possible by Corning.

Very exciting stuff for the techy in me. I find these utopian visions of the future very interesting and compelling. I wonder, though, how sustainability fits in. Can these products be crafted without destroying the environment? And is this only limited to the rich? Or will the poor of our globe have any benefit from this glorious utopia?
