Yesterday spent a lovely afternoon at the Edmonds market. Below are just a few shots. Enjoy!

A few random thoughts
Was just reading an article at RIS Media, “April’s Stable Home Prices Reflect The New Normal“. It’s good to see prices stabilizing, and actually increasing. What I find funny, though, is the concept “normal”. That this market will somehow find an equilibrium is a amusing. It fluctuates month by month, season by season, heck, even week by week. That’s what some folks seem to seek. Doubt I’ll ever see that.
Non-segue: it’s hard not to love the spate of gorgeous weather we’ve had. Though I actually enjoy the region’s famous misty weather, sun is glorious. Whether walking along the Edmonds waterfront & beaches, one of the area farmers markets, or riding along a bike trail, this is what makes living here just delightful.
So one that note, I’m off to enjoy it. And you should, too.
Edmonds Farmer’s Market Reboots This Weekend
I’ve long been fond of the Edmonds Farmer’s Markets. I find exploring the local wares and season produce vibrant yet relaxing. It’s one of my favorite parts of Spring & Summer Saturdays.
The 2013 season starts up this weekend, May 4th from 9-2. I hope to see you there!

It’s official: Edmonds IGA Market will open in former Petosa’s space May 15 | My Edmonds News
From MyEdmondsNews
I used to live close to the old Petosa’s in downtown Edmonds. Having a grocer a short walk away was glorious. And we were amongst those saddened when Petosa’s closed its doors. The building owners have done well, though, finding a new tenant with the same commitment and vision. I expect they’ll be a welcome neighbor.
Welcome to Edmonds, IGA!
Another Blunt Conversation About Budgets
Dave Earling, Mayor of Edmonds, wrote a good guest post over at My Edmonds News. It’s good for governmental leaders to talk, frankly, about government services and what they cost. It’s a start of a series. Other leaders will write about their departments work and what it costs to fund it. Should be a good series to help understand how small government works.
Fitness
Many years ago now, I was a pretty hardcore fitness buff. The past few months have seen me reconnect with that part of me. Besides taekwondo, I’ve been focusing on time in the gym. Mostly on weight machines and cycling (stationary bikes). The focus on building up my core fitness before I shift to more aggressive pursuits.
My gym of choice:Â Vision Quest in Edmonds. I love the town, and it’s a decent gym. I wish they’d get new stationary bikes, but that’s another post.
The only beef  right now: weekend hours. For me, it would be great to come in before 7:00 am on Saturday and Sunday. Now, I understand business and that they can’t build around one person’s needs. Can’t stop a guy from wishing, however. And it does make 24 Hour Fitness more attractive. With a LA fitness opening up close by, that might change things, too. However, I love to support the local guy, the home team. So, we’ll see, I guess.
As we move solidly into spring, I look forward to more outdoor stuff. A big one: taking my family on several hikes (Wallace Falls, along with others). And that, too, is another blog post.
