Lynnwood’s Trinity Lutheran Church’s Thanksgiving Feeding Project

Every year, Trinity Lutheran Church’s seeks to help the needy, beyond Thanksgiving, but this time of year is a critical time. Our goal this Thanksgiving: help 140 families. Though we’re solidly on-track to meet that goal, it is ambitious and we need your help.

Of the three below, the gift cards are the most preferred. After consulting with our neighboring schools, who we partner with for this ministry, it was determined that gift cards help people celebrate the holiday is culturally relevant ways.

The items below can be dropped at Trinity during office hours, or brought on Sunday.

Through The Day Then Into The Night

A pretty standard day any more. Worked all day, mostly drafting a site plan, but some other work, too. The most amusing was driving to one of our new listings. The property has been framed, but is still under construction. As it’s listed, we wanted to hang a keybox on the property, so other agents can show. We’ll, got the keybox, inserted keys, drove it out to Snohomish from Marysville, and then noticed there are no doors on the property yet. Nothing to hang the keybox to. Sigh… Anyway, I also followed up with a few folks, sent a gob of emails. After dropping off some drawings, etc, at a client’s house, I zipped home.

Now, in a couple of minutes, I’m heading off to a board meeting for the Snohomish County Youth Chorus. As my son sings in it, and the director is a long-time friend of mine, I’m quite committed to the org. It’s a fun group, the parents enjoy each other’s company, and the kids have fun. Oh, they sing and stuff!

Anyway, off on to the next appointment!

Today’s Give Big: If you’re at a loss, here are a few suggestions

Today is the Seattle Foundation’s Give Big challenger, where they will partially match your donations. Here are a few of my favorites, providing specific opportunities to leverage your giving.

There are many, many others out there. Go to the Seattle Foundation’s Give Big site for the definitive list.

It’s time to Give Big tomorrow

All the non-profits I love have been pinging me, reminding me about this fantastic opportunity to increase my donation’s reach: the Seattle Foundation’s Give Big.  Amazing,  and somewhat overwhelming opportunity. But it’s glorious way to increase the organizations-you-care-about’s funding, so take a minute tomorrow and make a difference.

Everett is building community one bad note at a time

One of the most clever fundraisers I’ve seen in some time. If nothing else, it shows the courage of your friends and neighbors.

Fundraiser for Old Dog Haven this Saturday in Lake Stevens

Old Dog Haven is a great local group that, well, supports homeless senior dogs (check out the website…I’m very fond of their work). Sammeke is the dog/owner of my good friend, Scott Watkins. For more details about the event (though it looks like all the gory details are in the jpeg below), head over to https://www.facebook.com/Sammeke10thBirthdayBash.
